The Guild D-140CE dreadnought offers musicians a traditional acoustic sound and balanced voicing thanks to its full-bodied and strong tone. The D-140CE is equipped with a hidden Guild/Fishman AP1 with Sonicore pickup and an attractive cutaway for access to higher frets. It is constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid African mahogany back and sides. A bone saddle and nut are further highlights, and the pickguard is made of period-appropriate tortoiseshell. Guild’s famous Chesterfield headstock symbol and a mother-of-pearl rosette that harkens back to 1960s models complete the ensemble.

Following Guild’s decision to move its design and construction headquarters from New Jersey to a Rhode Island furniture factory, the Westerly series of acoustic guitars represents the start of the company’s second chapter. This more spacious, renovated area provided a new focus and attention to enhancing their already superb craftsmanship. The Guild D-140CE, which features flawless construction details and elegant trimmings with an emphasis on enhanced tone and longevity, continues this legacy. The D-140CE’s tone and resonance are improved by a real rosewood bridge, real bone nut, and real bone saddle. Additionally, scalloped X-bracing made of spruce enhances resonance and sustain while also ensuring long-term durability.
