A KILLER COMBO OF SNAP AND SUSTAIN

The Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads feature warm, open tones with increased durability and projection. Constructed with 2-plies of 7-mil Coated film, Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads provide a soft feel and subtle attack for studio and live applications. A solid sustain is still provided by the Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads, which is more subdued than the clear version thanks to additional warmth and less aggression. These drumheads work well for both live performance and recording in a studio.

Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads at a glance:

  • Ideal for Snare, Tom, and Bass applications
  • 2-plies of 7-mil Coated film
  • Provides durability, warmth, and volume
Two plies of 7 mil film, with a coated top layer, are used to create the Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads. There is adequate sustain because there is no further control or dampening. Smaller accents and ghost notes are given a bit more definition by the coating, and this drumhead also permits stronger hitting when necessary. The top coating offers a sensitive surface for brush strokes and works well with both drumsticks and brushes.
The Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads is often a good choice for medium- to high-volume drumming. The Coated Emperor’s attack is moderate and just a touch warm, and the coating dampens higher frequency tones. The initial attack then gives way to moderately sustained, balanced-warm tones. Due to the two 7mil plies and additional coating, overtones are present but under control. The Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads still emits some colorful overtones when struck close to the edge.
The Remo Emperor Coated’s sound is excellent for medium-volume musical genres and studio recording. Under studio microphones, the modest sustain and somewhat controlled overtones will sound good. If things get noisy, this drumhead can also withstand hard bashing. However, it should be noted that the warmer sound could get a little lost in the mix in really loud live conditions (especially without microphones on the drums). Recommendation: If you’re concerned about this, look into the Clear Remo Emperor, which works a little bit better in really loud settings.
The Remo Coated Emperor Drumheads are a fantastic option if you’re searching for a versatile and robust drumhead. This is an open drumhead that allows for a decent sustain while controlling severe overtones.
Numerous legendary drummers, including John Bonham, Travis Barker, Tre Cool, and too many more to list, have played on Remo Emperor coated drumheads
