BOSS AND JHS PEDALS JOIN FORCES TO CREATE A NEW DRIVE PEDAL WITH A MASSIVE TONAL RANGE
The Boss JB-2 Angry Driver was developed in collaboration with JHS to commemorate 40 years of tone-shaping. This versatile pedal combines the sounds of the JHS Angry Charlie and the BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver into a single BOSS-style chassis. While a six-position mode selector dials in each overdrive independently or combines them in series and parallel configurations, three dual-concentric knobs independently regulate each voice’s Drive, Tone, and Level. There is an infinite variety of tones inside the JB-2 Angry Driver, whether you utilize the Blues Driver to force the Angry Charlie’s violent voice into saturation, reverse the order to push the Blues Driver into a muscular crunch, or experiment with unique new sounds.
The BOSS BD-2 Blues Driver reproduces the great creamy-crunchy tonal mix of a vintage tube amplifier. It like having an amp made of well aged vintage tubes in your setup. You’ll adore the warm overdrive and passionate distortion the Blues Driver offers to your rig if you play blues or if you want to give your rock setup a unique overdriven flavor from every other guitar player on the block.
The JHS Angry Charlie transforms your guitar amp into a sonic fireball by capturing the soul of British tone. The Angry Charlie has the rich bass response, thick mids, and balanced high end you’d expect from a hot-rodded British stack, making creating high-gain tones a breeze. When creating the Angry Charlie, JHS meticulously modeled a whole tone stack in the manner of the United Kingdom.
Josh Scott, the founder of JHS Pedals, has long been a fan of the BOSS Blues Driver and even attributes his interest in stompbox construction to the iconic overdrive pedal. He was so thrilled when the chance to work with BOSS President Yoshi Ikegami presented itself. The BOSS Blues Driver and JHS Angry Charlie were the hands-down winners after limitless variations of stompboxes were tested by the two devoted pedal designers. The Blues Driver’s ability to cover low gain so well makes it the ideal partner for the Angry Charlie’s high-gain tones.
