Each piano lesson focuses on essential skills like sight reading, proper technique, and music theory, while also allowing students to explore songs they love. You don’t need a full piano at home to begin—an electronic keyboard is perfectly suitable for the first six months of piano lessons, making it easy and affordable to get started on your musical journey.

Our teachers come from diverse backgrounds, including degreed musicians, session/gigging musicians, and teachers pursuing their own continuing musical education. What will I learn from piano lessons at Stage 1 Music?

Do I have to know how to read music?
No. Beginners are welcome!
Do I need to purchase a piano to learn the instrument?
For your first piano lesson you can use one of ours. After that, to ensure you are able to practice at home you would need to purchase or acquire your own. We make it easy! Stage 1 Music sells beginner digital keyboards for student lessons starting at around $149.99.
Are there piano recitals?
Absolutely! Twice a year we have student recitals and the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center. Unlike some other schools, we do not charge students a fee to perform. Students are encouraged to invite all of their family and friends.
